KAHRAMAA Water Quality Lab Renews International Standard Quality Accreditation

​For the third straight time, The Water Quality Lab of Qatar Genera Electricity & Water Corporation “KAHRAMAA” managed to renew the recognized International Standard ISO 17025:2005 accreditation certificate (Laboratory certificate # 3265.01) from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) after the successful completion of the evaluation process.

KAHRAMAA’s Water Quality Lab was granted the accreditation for the ​first time in 2012. It is one of around 200 non-commercial laboratories in the world authorized to use the logo of the world class certification body A2LA (Laboratory certificate # 3265.01)​. Moreover, KAHRAMAA Water Quality Lab is the leading laboratory in Qatar in terms of international accreditation and one of the first accredited laboratories in the region.

This accreditation is a recognition of KAHRAMAA Water Quality Lab capability of issuing authentic and accurate chemical and microbiological results, moreover, it maintains and complies with the requirements of international quality standard ISO 9001:2008. This international accreditation opens the door for KAHRAMAA water quality lab to be an international reference for testing samples and issuing accurate results inside and outside Qatar.

This achievement reflects the high quality and performance and the world class technical level of KAHRAMAA Water Quality Lab. It is added to KAHRAMAA various achievements on different fields. This accreditation comes within KAHRAMAA endeavor to achieve its vison that reads, “By 2030 our people, assets, systems and processes will set a global benchmark for performance, technological innovation, environmental sustainability and social responsibility in electricity & water Sector.”

KAHRAMAA exerts relentless efforts to ensure the quality of drinking water it provides to customers as per the highest international standards. ​In 2017, The Water Quality Lab has collected more than 30.000 samples where more than 189.000 tests were performed. It comes within the integrated quality control plan KAHRAMAA applies for drinking water at all stages from production facilities, through transmission networks, water stations, distribution networks until reaching the customer premises. KAHRAMAA applies state of the art water quality control technology where it observes the best international performance indicators as per it mission of “Providing High Quality and Sustainable Electricity and Water for Better Living in Qatar”.
