Core Responsibilities:

• Assists the Head of Main Projects in the preparation of budgets for all Kahramaa's water projects related to head works by providing necessary project information that would enable better decision making
• Assists Head of Main Projects in the articulation of project execution strategies for main water projects related to head works, based on the prescribed specifications and project design , ensuring  balance between the immediate project needs and the long term goals of the Water Projects Department
• Assists Head of Main Projects in developing project management policies in compliance with all relevant quality standards and procedural/ legislative requirements
• Assists Head of Main Projects in the development of project scheduling tools and procedures, in order to assist project engineers in controlling various activities of the project
• Participates in the review and approval of actual project designs, plans and drawings prepared in-house or by consultants and endorses all cost and contractual terms and conditions
• Supervises the development of bidding and contract documents, for all Kahramaa's main headworks water projects, in compliance with all established standards and benchmarks
• Participates in the evaluation of bids received from vendors from a projects perspective, to ensure that the proposals, specifications and capabilities proposed by vendors are compliant on requisite specifications
• Supervises the project implementation of minor, medium and major size main water projects of head works and ensures the implementation is in line with project execution plans
• Supervises subordinate engineers in troubleshooting technical problems in mechanical engineering discipline and ensures effective formulation and implementation of appropriate corrective actions
• Monitors, in collaboration with Water Projects Directorate, all head works construction site activities to ensure objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters
• Negotiates and resolves any disputes with contractors regarding payments and or/claims, when necessary
• Supervises the preparation of regular project status reports, and forwards the same to Head of Main Projects, for his review and inputs
• Ensures information regarding Kahramaa's main water projects and construction works, is documented and well managed, for easy access, when required
• Attends factory acceptance tests
• Attends and witness's material production test and inspection at manufacturers

• Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement section on securing and maintain the ISO / Risk Management / ISMS certification
• Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Department are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations
  
  Self-Management Responsibilities:

• Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the year
• Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended
• Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth
