Field Inspector- Emergency

Description:

The role holder will be responsible for the close supervision of contractors’ work performance on site and in-house emergency teams (pipe fitters, laborers). The role holder will also be responsible for the daily reporting to the immediate supervisor of on site work progress and updates.



Core Responsibilities:

  • Responds to customers complaints
  • Supervises the implementation of emergency works performed by in house resources or contractors
  • Investigates site of water customer complaint and pipeline emergency cases
  • Ensures that the pipeline works including reinstatement of roads/pavements are carried out as per the specifications and requirements
  • Follows-up on issued contract work requests (CWR) to the contractors
  • Updates inspection sheet for the material used in the site after completing the work
  • Prepares shutoff request and co-ordinates with Operation Section for shut off
  • Prepares main laying notification for any change in water networks, and co-ordinate with GIS surveyors for updating
  • Checks the pressure for water complaints
  • Notifies contractors of any code violations with written compliance report at the time of inspection
  • Ensure correction of violations are made and takes appropriate action to ensure compliance
  • Inspects Maintenance and emergency materials used on the site and ensures the quality is as per guidelines set
  • Inspects construction work for which specific permits are required
  • Issues copies of drawings as and when requested
  • Collects site details as per specific instructions for cost estimate and any other development work purposes
  • Monitors performance of the team on site and contractors
  • Attends weekly meetings to keep current on applicable codes and code changes
  • Checks the facilities location and owner information

  • Manages the overall maintenance and appearance of the site
  • Follows-up on the issuing of any required permit for the site operations
  • Submits periodic reports to the supervisor on complaints, violations, and any other site related issues
  • Performs other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate Supervisor
  • Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement section on securing and maintain the ISO / Risk Management / ISMS certification
  • Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Department are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations

    Self Management Responsibilites:
  • Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the year
  • Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended
  • Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth


Qualifications:

  • Technical Diploma/ ITI or equivalent
  • More than 6 years in a similar role​
