​The role holder is responsible to ensure effective maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) database, by assisting in performing activities related to preventive, planned and emergency maintenance of SCADA field equipment. The role holder is also responsible to improve and maintain SCADA field instruments of desalination plants and reservoir stations, by supporting in activities including standardizing, reviewing incoming data, and updating the database, on a regular basis, in order to ensure accurate and quality SCADA information is provided to relevant departments.

Core Responsibilities:

• Supports in the development, integration and implementation ofSCADA database maintenance plans, in order to improve productivity, maximize organizational effectiveness and ensure consistency with Kahramaa's goals and objectives
• Ensures smooth operations of Water National Control Centre (WNCC) by participating in activities related to monitoring of SCADA field instruments of reservoir and pumping stations, primary water mains from water producers and water main pipelines, and report to relevant departments, in case of any issues
• Participates in the identification of bottlenecks in the operations of water networks including main line breakages, pumping outages, and informs concerned engineers and ensures timely resolutions of the issues
• Coordinates with the Reservoir Shift Pump Operators and Control Room staff of desalination plants, in matters related to changes in the system of operation, as and when required
• Assists Senior Engineer – SCADA Maintenance in the recommendation of disaster recovery plans related to Water National Control Center, in order to provide effective SCADA services  to the business
• Improves and maintains SCADA field instruments and relevant data models including standardizing, checking and updating the field instruments to increase its reliability and limit abnormalities
• Liaises with relevant departments and contributes in reviewing existing or incoming data from desalination plants and reservoir stations, in order to ensureaccurate, useful, quality, or complete information is documented
• Prepares periodic technical reports relevant to SCADA database information related to reservoir stock, production, forwarding, distribution figures, average timing, plant status, in a timely manner, as applicable to the role
• Creates, performs and follows up on the preventive maintenance (PM) forms and procedures for all automation systems and field devices such as Primary & Secondary RTU components, WQEs, Pressure Transmitters, FDUs, PLCs and battery chargers
• Creates, performs and follows up on the corrective maintenance (CM)  procedures
• Coordinates with other departments to interface field instrument signals to NWCC etc.
• Prepares spare parts list and consumables for the maintenance of initiating the purchase process for the tools, spares & consumables and evaluates the received quotations for technical acceptability
• Specifies the mini/max for the spare parts
• Edits and modifies the logic in the PLC through the program to increase the performance of Primary stations
• Expedites work requisitions and regularly monitor & ensure proper tools, spares, consumables and information required for completion of the work
• Monitors contractor's work progress and witnesses the testing and commissioning of new Instrument / equipment's installations
• Inspects spare parts materials in stores and contractor places
• Determines the technical specifications for tendering and prepare tender documents
• Performs commissioning, start up, FAT and SAT of any new equipment or systems
• Prepares the Opex and Capex budget, related to the automation systems
• Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement section on securing and maintain the ISO / Risk Management / ISMS certification
• Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Department are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations
  
  Self Management responsibilities:
• Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the year
• Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended
